Q. What's the difference between pressure washing and soft washing, and how do you know which one my patio or pavers need?
Pressure washing (also called power washing) uses high pressure water to blast away oil, grime, and buildup fast, which works well on driveways and heavily soiled concrete or stone. Soft washing uses low pressure with a specialty cleaning solution instead, which is the safer choice for stucco, painted surfaces, grooved or textured pavers, and softer natural stone that high pressure could pit or strip. We choose between the two, and adjust water temperature and pressure within each, based on the actual material and how soiled it is, not a one size fits all setting.

That residue is efflorescence, a mineral deposit left behind when moisture moves through stone, concrete, or grout and carries salts up to the surface as it evaporates.
