A beautiful home in a country club subdivision of Johns Creek, Ga., a suburb of Atlanta, was going on the market for sale. Before it could be put up for sale, the marble tile floors needed extensive repair and restoration. The homeowner, impressed by our 5 star Google rating, contacted us for our free estimate consultation. They accepted our estimate and scheduled the project to be done.
Project: Repair and restore approximately 400 sq. feet of marble floor tile in the entrance and hallways. The existing issues were lippage, cracks, crystallizer buildup, scratches and an overall dull appearance.
Our Solution: Utilize professional grinding, honing and polishing techniques to remove scratches, eliminate crystallizer buildup, reduce lippage, erase other damage and restore the luster and shine to this black and white marble floor.
Prior to any work being done, our technician was carefull to protect the walls, baseboards and adjoing floor surfaces from any cast off from our machines.
Once protection was complete, one of the most crucial steps was to address the lippage that was throughout the project. For this we used lippage floats and resin pads.
The next critical issue was the buildup of crystallizer. Crystallizer can, over time, become cloudy and make the marble appear dull and hazy. We used a neutural pH cleaner and 220 grit resin pads to address the crystallizer buildup.
Once the floor was free of buildup, we fixed various tile cracks and grout issues. We then honed the floor, taking care to remove scratches and polished the marble back to it’s original shine.
Russ, the homeowner was very happy with what we did and left us a great 5 star Google review:
